This is a really simple idea, but it adds extra bench top space in tight shops. I used 3/4 in plywood and mounted it to the regular bench using door hinges. It swings all the up for easy access to the stuff under the bench, swings down out of the way when not in use. I ripped a 2x4 for the legs and then mounted them with strap hinges so they fold up out of the way on the backside and hold them in place with a rotating block of wood. The beauty of this bench is that is always clear when you need it and it makes sweeping up an easier job.
